Sakai Kanechika is based out of Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. We specialize in hand sharpening of kitchen knives and have a wide lineup from home to professional use kitchen knives. In recent years, while striving to hand craft genuine high-quality knives, our knives have become popular not only in Japan but also overseas.

Keiichi Fujii

Born and raised in Sakai, Mr. Fujji is a 3rd generation master sharpener. He has more than 50 years of knife production experience and over a hundred years of knife history in his family. Mr. Fujii continues to sharpen till this day and with the popularity of his knives, he has been able to bring on new apprentices to make knives with him in order to passionately pass on his skills to the next generation.

Where to buy

In Japan, you can purchase Sakai Kanechika knives at the Sakai City Cutlery Museum and at Tower Knives (locations in Osaka and Tokyo). The museum will have a few models from our entry level to higher end series while Tower Knives will have a full selection of our mid to high level series.
